My Etsy Shop Review Promise
“In this review I will take you from a place of uncertainty where you are wondering why people are not visiting or purchasing in sufficient numbers in your Etsy shop and not knowing what to do about it to a place where you can understand those reasons. I will help you to find and overcome them. I will show you how to put measurements in place that will help you understand your progress and focus your attention better on what you need to work on.”
“Like so many artists and designer makers, this year (2020) has made me have to look at operating my business in a different way. I had a non e-commerce website and an Etsy shop that I had never used.
It was really important to establish a strong online presence. Starting to populate my shop I soon realised that it was not as easy as I first thought. There are lots of ‘hidden’ administration choices and costs that you are unaware of if you are unsure how to navigate and use the system.
Paul came highly recommended to me as an expert in the field of online marketing and website building and analysis.
After a couple of phone conversations and a remote tutorial he had answered all my queries and produced a detailed report which analyses all areas of my online shop. He set short term tasks that made a dramatic change in traffic to my site and some longer term objectives to ensure continued sales growth.
Paul has a wealth of knowledge he is approachable, patient and no question is to small, his attention to detail is finite. I would highly recommend working with Paul.
Current Performance Metrics
My review starts by collecting some important performance metrics or statistics about your Etsy shop. These figures quickly tell me information about where we need to focus. Is it on bringing new visitors or is it on improving the experience once they arrive or maybe both? I will identify figures you need to start tracking yourself and show you where you can find them.
For every 100 visitors if they get 1 sale you are doing well. Get 2 sales then you are doing very well. But what if the sale is simply a card? Imagine how many sales and therefore visitors you need to create a sustainable income? The good news, however, is that simple tweaks to titles, descriptions, keywords and attributes are often all that are necessary to increase visitors 100 fold. I will show you how to you can achieve this.
Increasing Sale Conversions
First you need to increase the numbers of visitors to your Etsy shop. Next we need to look at the experience that they have when they get there and whether it is sufficient to get them to stay. If they stay will they purchase either the product that brought them in or another product? We will look at how you can monitor this and how you can improve it with your descriptions, photography and shop layout.
Looking At Your Competitors
You will not be the first and you will not be be the last person doing what you are doing in Etsy. Some people do it really well already and some very badly indeed! Etsy like a lot of things online, is so transparent. I will show you how to identify competitors that are doing well and then how to analyse how they are achieving that so that you can employ similar tactics in your own shop.
Dig Deeper With Software Tools
Customers are amazed when I show them what information is available from 3rd party software tools. I will introduce you to an affordable tool that we will use during the review. We will use it to analyse your own shop and then to extract incredible information from your competitors shops. You can even track your competitors as you move forward so that you can spot what is working well for them in the future!
Where To Next
Your Etsy shop is part of something much bigger. In the final part of my review I will explain how you can position it better in your whole online marketing strategy. We will briefly look at the pros and cons of rented platforms like Etsy. Then we will look at owned platforms like your website and mailing list. Finally we will discuss how they can all be positioned to work harder together.
